When We Are Closed
When the surgery is closed in the evenings, at weekends and on Bank Holidays there is a new telephone service for people in East Surrey to call if they need medical help fast but are not in a life-threatening situation, and this is NHS 111.
The easy to remember number has been introduced to help people get the right help, at the right time, especially at weekends and out of hours.
NHS 111 is free to call from landlines and mobiles, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
The service is available for people who aren’t sure if they need to go to A&E, can’t see their GP or generally need reassurance and advice.
Your call to NHS 111 will be handled by team of fully trained advisers and experienced nurses and doctors who will assess your condition and direct you to the local service that can help you best, when you need it.
There are now only three numbers to know; 999 for life-threatening emergencies, your GP surgery and 111.
DIAL 999 in an emergency. For example:
- Chest pain
- Severe breathing difficulty
- Serious Injury
- In the event of a death
